The only powder in the line formulated for steel and other non-toxic shot, and non-toxic loading is a genuinely different problem from lead — hard pellets that do not deform, higher working pressures, wads that have to protect the bore. It is consistent across the temperature range, which matters more in a November blind than almost anywhere else in shotshell loading. Use it for what it was built for. It is not a general lead target powder, and cross-substituting components into or out of published steel data is where people get hurt.

Grain shape
Slow, thick-web flake — the heavy wall keeps gas production going behind a hard, unyielding steel shot column instead of spiking against it. Because non-toxic loads run high by design, the published data for this powder carries less margin than lead target data does.

Alliant states it is consistent at all temperatures and delivers maximum velocity. Intended for non-toxic shot loads rather than general lead target work.
