Alliant Power Pro 4000-MR
A spherical magnum rifle powder for hunting cartridges used on large or dangerous game, with heavy-bullet medium rifle loads as a secondary use.
The slowest of the Power Pro rifle powders, aimed at belted magnums like 7mm Remington Magnum and .300 Winchester Magnum. Its case for existing is the ball-powder argument at magnum speed: accurate metering and enough density that a large charge fits without compression games. It has not displaced the Reloder powders in that role and is not widely discussed, so there is thin community experience behind it. Expect the usual overbore magnum costs in heat and throat wear, and verify a hunting load in the conditions you will actually hunt in.

Grain shape
Spherical, so it drops through a measure cleanly and packs to a higher loading density than an extruded stick of similar speed — useful when a magnum case needs a lot of powder. Degressive burn, with the deterrent coating on each ball doing the work a thick web does in an extruded grain.
