Vihtavuori N105 Super Magnum
Intended for the most powerful handgun cartridges in current use, especially those with heavy bullets or large case volume; Vihtavuori notes several of these rounds operate at rifle pressure levels.
Vihtavuori's magnum handgun powder, for the cartridges that are really short rifles: .454 Casull, .460 and .500 S&W, heavy .44 Magnum and full-power 10mm. It fills those big cases well, which is exactly what you want when the alternative is a small charge of a fast powder rattling around in a lot of empty space. Like the ball magnum powders it wants a full-power load and a firm crimp; it is not a powder for downloading.

Grain shape
Extruded tube, neutral-burning: surface stays roughly constant as the perforation opens, so the pressure curve stays civil in a case that is running at rifle pressure. The grains are small enough to meter acceptably, far better than any rifle stick.

Despite the N100-style number, Vihtavuori groups N105 with the N300 handgun and shotgun powders rather than with the N100 rifle series. It does not appear on their published canister burn rate chart, and no standalone product page exists on the current site.
