A high-performance magnum rifle powder built for very high velocities in magnum cartridges.
Built to fill big magnum cases with more energy than the older slow powders and turn it into velocity — 7mm Remington Magnum, .300 Winchester Magnum and the modern long-range magnums like .28 Nosler are where it built its name, and it is quick for its burn position. Its high bulk density is a real practical advantage: a full charge goes into the case without a fight over compression. Alliant describes a controlled response to temperature, but this powder is designed to live near the top of the envelope, so anyone chasing its maximum velocity should confirm behaviour in summer heat rather than trusting a cool-weather workup. It is pointless in small or medium cases; it needs the volume to pay off.

Grain shape
Extruded stick with a heavy web and unusually high bulk density, so more propellant mass fits a given case volume than the older slow sticks allow. That density is why it works in overbore magnums — and why a case too small to give the web time to burn simply wastes it.

Uses Alliant's EI technology and has a high bulk density that permits larger charges. Alliant states it gives a consistent, controlled response to temperature changes and that the formulation contains no DNT or DBP. Contains a de-coppering additive. Made in Switzerland.
