Alliant Green Dot
A versatile target and field shotshell powder. Alliant highlights handicap trap and light 20 gauge target work.
The mid-fast member of the classic Dot family and the traditional choice for handicap trap, where you want more push than the lightest target loads without moving to a hunting powder. It does honest work in light 20 gauge target loads as well. Being a step slower than Red Dot makes it more tolerant behind a slightly heavier payload, and it patterns consistently. The current version is cleaner than the one older shooters complain about, but it is still not the powder to run at the very bottom of its range if soot bothers you.

Grain shape
Cut circular flake with a web a step thicker than Red Dot's — same chemistry family, different wall, which is the whole ladder of the Dot powders in one sentence. Degressive burn gives its energy early behind the wad: right for target velocities, unforgiving of a heavy charge.

Alliant cites precise burn rates for tight, uniform patterns and lower felt recoil, and describes the current version as cleaner burning than the original.
