Alliant 20/28
Purpose-built for 20 and 28 gauge clay target shooting, particularly skeet and sporting clays.
A single-purpose sub-gauge clay powder that does its one job about as well as anything on the shelf. It sits near Unique in speed but was tuned for small hulls, so it fills a 28 gauge case sensibly and burns clean at the modest pressures those loads run. The honest limitation is that it is a one-job powder — there is no reason for it in your cabinet unless you shoot 20 and 28 seriously, and it is stocked and priced accordingly. Nothing about handling it is tricky.

Grain shape
A circular flake cut from extruded sheet — the thickness of that flake is the web the flame must burn through, and here it is set thin enough to finish inside a short sub-gauge shot column. Flake is degressive, so surface and gas output fall away as it burns, which is exactly right behind a light payload and exactly why an overcharge shows up as pressure rather than velocity.

Alliant states it is designed for all modern 20 and 28 gauge components, burns very cleanly and has proven lot-to-lot consistency. Made in the USA.
