Burn rate

Medium-slow rifle, in the Winchester 760 / IMR 4350 region; not shown on Hodgdon's current burn rate chart.

Chart agreement: coverage gap - H414 is missing from Hodgdon's OWN 2024 chart. Vihtavuori, Shooters World and Wolfe/LoadData all list it and all treat H414 and Winchester 760 as occupying the same burn rate position (they are widely regarded as the same powder). Ranked by: Vihtavuori, Shooters World, Wolfe/LoadData.

Powders charted near it — neighbours on the chart are not substitutes, and adjacency tells you nothing about what charge either one takes:

Data confidence

We flag entries we could not fully verify rather than presenting them as solid:

Verify the charge, not just the recipe

Good data gets you a safe starting point. It does not tell you what actually went into the case on stroke 340 — a bridged measure, a double charge, a squib. That is what an RCM Laser Powder Check is for.
