Accurate Nitro 100 NF
A 12-gauge target shotshell powder that Hodgdon also supports with centerfire metallic data in its current load guides.
A very fast flattened-spherical clay-target powder, and the important thing about it is the NF - New Formulation. This is not the old flake Nitro 100 and old data does not apply to it; Hodgdon says so explicitly and people still get caught with an old can and a new manual on the same bench. As a target powder it is clean and soft in 12 gauge, and Hodgdon carries metallic pistol data for it too. At this burn speed the charge is tiny, so a double is trivially easy to make and impossible to spot.

Grain shape
Flattened spherical - the ball is rolled to a disc, which raises surface area per unit mass and thins the web, so it is both faster and more consistent in ignition than the same material left round. The flattening also drops bulk density, which is what makes it fill a shotshell bushing sensibly.

Manufacturer describes it as a flattened-spherical grain. The 'NF' means New Formulation: the powder was reworked to improve flow and ignition, and Hodgdon states that only current-edition data may be used with it, not data written for the original Nitro 100. The original flake Nitro 100 is no longer the product being sold. Bushing reference data is published separately by Hodgdon.
Burn rate
Near the fast end of the whole smokeless range; sits among the fastest shotshell powders, close to Alliant e3 and just slower than Alliant Extra-Lite.
