Designed around the 223 Remington but usable across small and medium calibres, including big-bore straight-wall rifle rounds.
Accurate's answer to H335: a bulk .223 ball that meters like water and is a large part of why people load AR ammunition on a progressive at all. It spans the small and medium bottlenecks and is even listed for the big straight-wall rifle rounds. It is not a match powder and does not pretend to be - run it where volume and repeatable drops matter more than the last of the group size.

Grain shape
Spherical and degressive: surface falls as it burns, so it is energetic early and unforgiving of a heavy drop past the top of the range. Web thickness is what separates it from 2460 and 2520 on the same chemistry - same family, thicker wall, slower rung on the ladder.

Manufacturer points to the flow characteristics and grain size as making it well suited to progressive loading. Hodgdon publishes separate 2230-C and 2230-S reference sheets.
