Vihtavuori N133
The classic short-range benchrest powder. Vihtavuori originally developed it for 5.56 NATO and notes it has been behind a large number of standing benchrest records; it also serves AR-15 practical shooting.

It has been behind a large share of the standing records in 6mm PPC and remains the default in that world, and it does excellent work in .222 and .223 with lighter bullets and in AR practical shooting. Vihtavuori's lot-to-lot consistency is why benchrest shooters pay the premium: when the entire discipline is about eliminating variables, a powder that does not shift between lots is worth money. Note there is no decoppering claim for this one.

Grain shape
Small tubular single-perforated grains, neutral-burning, and the small kernel size means it throws through a measure with far less bridging than a long stick. Steady pressure plus repeatable throws is exactly why benchrest settled on it.
