It is a long-range hunting and precision powder rather than a plinking one, and the natural step up from N160 when heavy bullets have taken all the case you have.

Tubular grains larger than the mid-range N500 powders, and the thicker web is exactly why it is slower. Neutral-burning, so a big magnum charge builds pressure smoothly, but the larger kernels meter less precisely, so weigh if you care.

Nitroglycerine-enhanced for higher energy than the equivalent N100 powder, letting it reach more velocity at the same pressure. Tubular grains larger than the mid-range N500 powders.
