Magnum Rifle Powder - the one Norma with a genuine reputation outside Europe, long a standard for 7mm Remington Magnum, .300 Winchester Magnum and the overbore cases generally, and cited by Norma in .243 Winchester and .25-06 as well. Anyone who was loading magnums a generation ago knew someone using it. The catch now is double: Norma's index carries a 'Discontinued' badge adjacent to MRP and 217 without saying which one it means, and Norma canister powder is not stocked by the mainstream US distributors and reaches US shelves only through occasional imports, and a good many sites that appear to list it are not real retailers.

Grain shape
Extruded stick; Norma does not publish geometry. Thick web to reach magnum burn speed, with stick behaviour at the measure - expect bridging in a rotary thrower and weigh anything you care about.

Long the best-known Norma powder outside Europe. Norma's gunpowder index carries a 'Discontinued 2026' badge adjacent to the 217 and MRP listings and it is not clear from the page markup which product it applies to - confirm current status with Norma or a dealer before relying on either. Grain geometry and base are not stated on the product page. Norma canister powder is not stocked by the mainstream US reloading distributors and reaches US shelves only through occasional imports - treat availability as unreliable. Many web shops that appear to list Norma powder in the US are not legitimate retailers. Norma publishes data through its own reloading portal rather than a printed US manual.
