IMR 7828
The original full-length-kernel version of IMR 7828, a slow magnum rifle powder. It has been superseded in the catalogue by the short-cut IMR 7828 SSC.
The original long-kernel IMR 7828, superseded by the SSC version. Same burn rate and the same published data as SSC, but the full-length kernels pack a case less efficiently, and in some magnum cartridges the charge simply will not fit where SSC will. There is no reason to prefer it: use what you have in the cases where it fits, and buy SSC when it runs out.

Grain shape
Full-length extruded single-perforated sticks. The neutral-burning tube geometry is identical to SSC's; only kernel length differs, which is a packing and metering problem rather than a burn-rate one.

Discontinued in favour of IMR 7828 SSC. Hodgdon states the two share exactly the same burn rate and the same published data; the SSC version simply meters better and fills the case more efficiently. Only the SSC version is currently listed.
