Nobel Sport Vectan Tubal 8000
A slow-burning tubular rifle propellant for large-capacity and magnum bottleneck cases.
The slowest of Vectan's Tubal rifle series, for large-capacity and magnum bottleneck cases - .270 Winchester, .30-06, 7mm Remington Magnum, .300 Winchester Magnum. The thing that actually matters is not ballistic: it is not in the Shooters World US catalogue at all, US listings appear only sporadically at large retailers, and the data source is Vectan's European reloading catalogue. For a US loader this is effectively a paper powder.

Grain shape
Tubular extruded - a single-perforation tube burns close to neutral, the outer circumference shrinking exactly as the inner hole grows, so gas production holds up through bullet travel instead of falling away as it does with flake or ball. That is what suits it to a large overbore case.
Why geometry decides burn rate more than chemistry does: Shape Is the Product.
Tubal is Nobel Sport's tubular extruded rifle series (3000, 5000, 7000, 8000). It is not part of the current Shooters World US catalog - US listings appear only sporadically at large retailers, so verify availability before designing a load around it. Vectan's own European reloading catalogue is the data source.
This powder is obscure enough in the US that its practical character is thinly documented. The note above is deliberately short rather than padded.
Sources
The specifications above come from Nobel Sport Vectan's own published documentation, linked below. The two “RCM's read” sections are ours, not theirs — our assessment of what this powder is like to load, drawn from its published characteristics and from what handloaders consistently report. No manufacturer endorses them and no source below backs them. If you think we have one wrong, tell us — we would rather fix it.
