Norma Match
Norma 1219
One of Norma's Match powders, sold to competitive handloaders. Norma does not publish a general application or cartridge list for these.
The third of Norma's Match powders, and like its siblings it is defined by how it is sold rather than by any published property - per-lot data printed on the can, no manual, no chart position, no stated composition or grain form. Buy a lot, work up within that lot, do not carry anything forward. Practically unobtainable in the US outside occasional imports.
- lot-specific match loading
- European competition shooting

Grain shape
No grain geometry or base composition is published for the Match powders, so there is no honest mechanism to describe - what you can say about how it meters comes from the can in front of you, not from the maker.
Why geometry decides burn rate more than chemistry does: Shape Is the Product.
Norma treats the Match powders differently from its numbered line: load data is developed for each individual lot and printed on the can rather than published in a general manual, so data from one lot must not be carried across to another. Norma states no base composition, grain form or burn-rate placement for these. Norma canister powder is not stocked by the mainstream US reloading distributors and reaches US shelves only through occasional imports - treat availability as unreliable. Many web shops that appear to list Norma powder in the US are not legitimate retailers. Norma publishes data through its own reloading portal rather than a printed US manual.
This powder is obscure enough in the US that its practical character is thinly documented. The note above is deliberately short rather than padded.
Data confidence
We flag entries we could not fully verify rather than presenting them as solid:
- Manufacturer publishes a product page but states no composition or grain form for this powder; those fields are unconfirmed.
Sources
The specifications above come from Norma's own published documentation, linked below. The two “RCM's read” sections are ours, not theirs — our assessment of what this powder is like to load, drawn from its published characteristics and from what handloaders consistently report. No manufacturer endorses them and no source below backs them. If you think we have one wrong, tell us — we would rather fix it.
